Shot continuity: review space, action, and pacing
An attractive shot does not necessarily connect into a clear story. Continuity review considers space, action, character state, and information along the viewer's path.
Establish spatial relationships
Record positions, eyelines, and important objects. Check whether adjacent shots create confusion about movement, a conversation partner, or a location change.
Compare action across the cut
Review the beginning and end of actions, clothing and props, and any repeated or missing behavior. Revise footage that cannot connect before relying on editing to solve it.
Watch the complete sequence
Play the shots in order and assess whether viewers can understand what happened. Adjust duration and transitions for the message and check that subtitles and audio support the story.
